Fabric and sewing are my passions, and fitting is my obsession.

I have made clothes for most of my life, starting with garments for my Sindy TM doll. I soon graduated to making clothes for myself, and eventually for others, and have continued to develop my skills throughout my life.

I have the City and Guilds qualification in "Fashion", which covers developing my own patterns as well as making garments to a professional standard.

I am particularly interested in designing garments and creating the patterns for them, but have experience in using and adapting commercial dress patterns and copying existing garments.

One area of sewing that I love is "Art-to-wear", in which the garments are embellished in some way (patchwork, applique, embroidery, fabric paint etc.) The challenge that I take in such a garment is to make it wearable so that it does not take over from the personality of the wearer.
